Why coarse salt? Coarse salt has larger crystals than granulated salt, this makes it obvious in food with a more dramatic taste, so less is needed when cooking.
It works very well when making salted caramel. It can be used to preserve fish and meat.
Salt is believed to aid with anti-ageing and blood circulation.
It can also be used to exfoliate skin all over the body, as part of a scrub for tough skin such as on heels and elbows.
